Growing up there was a beautiul oil painting in our living room that was of a rocky ocean with these same colors; the blue, silver and black. This is a digital painting with oils from a photograph that I took from the Alamitos Bay area of Long Beach, California looking out toward the ocean as the sun was lowering on a late January afternoon. The beach was virtually empty, but there were a few people fishing off the breakwater. The photograph is also available here in the "On My Journeys" gallery.
