Summer Light - Original photographic artwork by Heidi Smith.
Yesterday two of my kids asked if we could go out for an evening of photographic fun. My thirteen year old wanted to us to go to the airport to watch planes take off and land. It was the start to a very nice evening. Because the airport is enclosed with chain link fencing, photographic opportunities weren't the best, but it was still quite enjoyable. My five year old wanted to go down to the docks afterward to view the sunset. This particular sunset was probably one of the mildest I've seen...the colors were quite subdued, only a slight peach, orange, and lavender cast over the sky and water. To be honest, I wasn't sure that this sunset image would even be worth posting, but after looking on my desktop screen I immediately fell in love with it. I hope you like it too. Thank you for taking the time to view my images.
Sunset was at 8:02. This image was made at 8:14.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have a long-standing interest in photography. I had my first camera since before my teens. I used a (Minolta) film camera up until about 8 years ago when my camera failed to function while on a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Although a little intimidated, I then ventured into the world of digital photography and I've never looked back. My passion is nature. I started out primarily photographing flowers, plants, and critters that I would find in my garden. I love gardening and the great outdoors. I am always planning my next adventure, and I'll always have my camera in hand. I'm already...
